Step 1 – Prepare your application file

If you meet the above requirements, you can prepare your personal application file and contact us to fix a meeting with a HappyCare consultant.

Your personal file must contain:

A. Standard forms :
1. Application Form (download)
2. Two childcare experience references from the parents of 2 children you have taken care of – Childcare reference (download)
3. Your own statement about your childcare experience – Childcare experience form ; (download)
4. One Character Reference from a person, non-family member, who knows you for at least 2 years (download)
5. The Medical Report filled in by your family physician (Download) (download)

B. Other documents :
1. 4 passport photos (smile!)
2. 1 photo with your family
3. 2 photos with the children you took care of
4. Dear family letter – in English. You must present yourself, say why you want to be an au-pair in America, what are your interests, about your childcare experience and other particular details (about your diet, the didactic methods you prefer etc) (See example)
5. ID card copy (BI/CI), passport and driving license copies ;
6. Copies of any diploma, high school leaving diploma or other qualification courses like first aid course or childcare course.

Step 2

If your personal file is complete, than :

1. You will be accepted on the spot for an interview with our agency specialists ,
2. You will be psychological tested and you will have to pass also a language test (the language of the country you want to go to)
3. You will sign a mediation contract with our agency; ;
4. Your file will be sent to the partner agency and will be analyzed by potential host families ;
5. You will receive a family profile of the family which chose you (description, photos) so that you can make a clear idea about them ;
6. If you like the family they will call you ;
7. If both parties (you and the family) agree, you will receive from the family an invitation (the contract), necessary when applying for the visa ;
8. You apply for the special au pair visa. You have to apply in person for the visa at the destination country embassy or consulate from Bucharest. You will receive assistance from the agency ;
